Christmas at the Movies Parade Brings Holiday Cheer

Arkadelphia’s Christmas at the Movies Parade may have been cold, but it was full of joy and school spirit. We loved seeing everyone come together, from AHS FBLA serving as Grand Marshal and our Teacher of the Year, Grant Reimer, to homecoming queens, FFA, clubs, and the band and choirs from schools across the district. It was a wonderful celebration of our students, staff, and community.

A Badger Pride Holiday Twist

Arkadelphia High School showed off some serious holiday spirit during the festive sweater contest. Staff winner Heather McDaniel stole the show with a creative sweater featuring familiar faces—Coach Smith as Santa and Ms. Hunley as an elf—while student winner Keaton brought the holiday style to take top honors. Congratulations to our winners and everyone who joined in the fun, including the English Department on Plaid Day!

AHS Choir Performed at the State Capitol

The Arkadelphia High School Choir performed at the Arkansas State Capitol as part of the annual Sounds of the Season celebration. The event featured student choirs from across the state and showcased the talent and hard work of young musicians in a festive holiday setting. We were proud to see AHS students represent our school and community on a statewide stage.

The Arkadelphia High School Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band performed their Christmas Concert on Monday, December 15th, at the Jones Performing Arts Center on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University. Leading up to the performance, AHS halls were filled with the beautiful sounds of the season as students prepared for the event. It was a wonderful evening showcasing their hard work, talent, and holiday spirit

Annie Hardin Named AHS DAR Good Citizen

Senior Annie Hardin was recognized by the Arkadelphia Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as the Arkadelphia High School DAR Good Citizen. We appreciated the local DAR members who presented this award, which is given each year to an outstanding student. Annie was accompanied by her mother, Jill, and received a lapel pin and certificate. Congratulations, Annie!

Badger Football Hits the
News with Holiday Music!

Arkadelphia High School made both online and television news when the Badger football team released a holiday music project that caught the attention of THV11. The local station highlighted how the team spread Christmas spirit by putting their own spin on festive tunes — a creative way for students to use their gifts and talents during the break. We were thrilled to see our community featured in the news for something so fun and positive!

Badger Pride Awards

Arkadelphia High School Internship students were recognized at last month’s school board meeting for demonstrating exceptional TEAMWORK, one of our CKH Leadworthy character traits. The students collaborated to create a video for the new high school project—an effort they approached with maturity, enthusiasm, and true Badger pride. Although they will not directly benefit from a new high school, their willingness to serve reflects their strong leadership and commitment to the Arkadelphia community. We are proud of these students for their leadership, collaboration, and dedication to supporting their school and community.

Students Recognized: Wyatt Daniel, Emma Frederick, Annie Hardin, Christian Hunter, Kate Manning (not pictured), Gabe Owens, Taylen Smith, Kelton Wilson, Clark Wingfield, and Trace Young.

The Arkadelphia High School Badger Pride Marching Band was recognized at the December School Board meeting after winning the 4A State Marching Band Championship in November. Their 2025 show, A Bite of the Big Apple, was the highlight of the state contest at War Memorial Stadium, marking the band’s 8th ASBOA State Championship. Head Band Director Larry Brown, Assistant Directors Ondrea Green and Bryan Sandoval, and a group of senior students accepted the Badger Pride Award on behalf of the entire 2025–26 Badger Pride Marching Band.

Amelia Price, senior at Arkadelphia High School, was recognized at the latest Arkadelphia School Board meeting with a Badger Pride Award. Her ornament design was selected for presentation on the Arkansas Capitol Christmas Tree, featuring a stunning rendering of the Henderson House. This project invited students from across the state to illustrate how “Arkansas Celebrates My Community” comes to life where they live.

Career Tech Education Connections

Christmas at the Movies: FFA Brings Charlie Brown to Life

Arkadelphia FFA students worked hard to build a parade float for the annual Christmas parade. Students created props, painted characters, and proudly showcased the theme “Christmas at the Movies” with the beloved Charlie Brown gang. Their creativity, teamwork, and school spirit were on full display as they helped spread holiday cheer throughout the community.

Celebrating Computer Science Education Week at AHS

Computer Science continues to grow in Arkansas, and every high school student must now earn at least one CS credit to graduate. At AHS, Mrs. Stefanie Davis helps students see how technology—like phones, AI, and social media—works in real life while building problem-solving skills, creativity, and online safety. Classes are fun, interactive, and full of real-world connections. Currently, students can take Introduction to Computer Science, with plans to expand into a full Software Development Career Pathway. This week, Badgers explored activities from the CS Week Choice Board to celebrate Computer Science Education Week!

AHS Band Director Performs in Rose Parade

We are so proud of our Assistant Arkadelphia Band Director, Ondrea Green! On New Year’s Day, Ms. Green participated in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, joining 350 band directors from across the U.S., Mexico, and Panama as part of the "Saluting America’s Band Directors Marching Band." She called it an unforgettable experience, saying she is eager to return to our students with new ideas and inspiration.

AHS Hosts School Board and Administrators

It was a pleasure having the Arkadelphia School Board and District Administrators on the AHS campus! One of their favorite traditions is visiting each campus and sharing a meal with students. Along with great conversation and meaningful dialogue, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by Southwest Foodservice Excellence, LLC. We appreciate our board’s dedication to staying connected with the heart of our schools, and thank AHS for hosting this special visit!
