APSD Capital Improvement Project

The proposed Arkadelphia High School project is designed to provide modern learning environments, highlighted by a dedicated area for Career Education.

This new facility will house the Agricultural Education/FFA Shop and AHS Career Pathway Programs. In 2024-25, Agricultural Education and FFA returned to the Arkadelphia School District after 53 years. This new facility will provide hands-on learning workspace for high-wage, high-demand careers.

Badger Pride Marching Band Takes State

CONGRATS TO THE 2025 4A STATE MARCHING BAND CHAMPIONS: THE BADGER PRIDE MARCHING BAND

 

AHS 10th–12th graders attended an ACT Prep session hosted by Dawson Education Service Cooperative, learning strategies to improve their scores. The school appreciates this partnership and the opportunities it provides.

 

The No Hate Tour visited AHS, combining BMX action sports with messages on bullying prevention, mental health, resilience, inclusion, and positive choices. Students and staff enjoyed an engaging show promoting kindness and support.

 

Student Recognitions

Ellie Echols and Timothy LeVar were recognized as AP Scholars with Honor for their outstanding performance on Advanced Placement exams, earning an average score of at least 3.25 and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams.

 

Senior cheerleader Emilie Taylor was crowned the 2025 Miss Southwest District Fair Queen and represented the district at the Arkansas State Fair Queen pageant.

Badger Pride Awards

Junior Carson Brawley was selected as one of nine students in Arkansas to serve on the Circle K Arkansas Activities Association Student Advisory Council, providing leadership feedback and training. Congratulations to Carson on this honor!

Alexus Smith was recognized for demonstrating the CKH LeadWorthy trait of Empathy, consistently showing kindness, inclusion, and support for others. She sets a great example of Badger leadership.

Anayeli Chevales was recognized for demonstrating the CKH LeadWorthy trait of Empathy by encouraging a quiet classmate to share and helping them feel included during “Good Things.”

 

Staff Recognitions

The Arkadelphia Promise introduced the Teacher of the Month Award, honoring the legacy of Janice and Stanley Stanford. The first recipient is Mr. Grant Reimers, English teacher and Quiz Bowl coach, recognized for his excellence in teaching and dedication to students. He received a cash award from Arkadelphia Promise Director Jason Jones.

Kristin Cloninger

Kristin Cloninger, CTE teacher and internship supervisor, was honored as a FutureMaker by the Arkadelphia Alliance & Chamber for her work preparing students for careers and creating local internship opportunities.

Magen Atkinson’s Algebra II students explored quadratic functions by analyzing the path of a football in motion, using footage of Senior Kicker Seth Molinari. This hands-on activity helped students connect math concepts to real-world applications.

Callie Hunley

Principal Callie Hunley, serving at AHS since 2020, is recognized for her leadership and dedication to students and staff. She previously served eight years as Perritt Primary School Principal and has been a great fit at the high school.

To celebrate October 31st, students in Mrs. Greenwich’s Algebra 1 classes solved problems covering the standards they’ve learned so far this year. After completing a set number of problems, they turned them in for a chance to draw a “trick or treat.”

Career Tech Education Connections

Students met with Kevin Jester, owner of KW Jester Logging, to learn about the forestry industry. He shared how harvesting, processing, and modern technology turn trees into everyday products and discussed career opportunities available in Southwest Arkansas.

Since 2018, AHS FBLA has partnered with UAMS to host the MammoVan, providing life-saving mammogram screenings. This year, 16 women were screened, each receiving a gift card and goodies. FBLA also donated $500 from their Badgers for the Cure shirt sale to support the program. Students toured the mobile unit, learning about the mammogram process and celebrating strong, fearless women.

Arkadelphia FFA members attended the Arkansas State Fair on October 15, working at the Ag In Action Center and enjoying rides, games, and livestock shows.

Arkadelphia FBLA members attended the District IV Fall Leadership Conference in Hope, connecting with other chapters, learning this year’s goals, and representing AHS with pride.

Thank you to Clark County Farm Bureau for visiting students to share information about local and state career opportunities, supporting both students and the community.

Students heard from Jordan Dennis of Henderson State University’s Aviation Department about the Aviation Program, career paths, scholarships, and opportunities to earn flight hours during the summer.

Southern Bancorp for sponsored the Homecoming “Party in the Parking Lot” and for provided food, service, and Badger Swag for students and staff. Your support is greatly appreciated!  Special thanks to Mrs. Ashley Wesley for coordinating this and all our homecoming events.
