News From 2nd Grade

Mrs. Robertson's, Mrs. Rodgers', and Mrs. Talley's classes had fun learning about Veterans Day and what it really means. They read, wrote thank you letters and poems, and even learned a short song. They also honored their very own Veteran: Mrs. Booker!

Teacher Feature

Mrs. Resnick is an 3rd grade teacher, and Mrs. Talley is a 2nd grade teacher. We love having them here at Peake! We asked them some questions; let's catch up with them and hear what they had to say!

Mrs. Talley, how long have you been a teacher? 11 years

If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be and why? Bathroom Breaks!! It takes up a lot of time.

Where would you time-travel, if it were possible? To the future of course, I’m thinking the year 3000.

Crunchy peanut butter or smooth? Crunchy, crunchy, crunchy

What is your favorite book? Did it teach you anything? Where the Crawdads Sing, It taught me to be thankful for the things I have in life.

If you could magically become fluent in any language, what would it be? Japanese!

Mrs. Resnick, how long have you been a teacher? 4 years in the public schools

What is your favorite meal to cook and why? I am not the best cook but my husband makes the best venison chili in the fall and winter. That has become our family's warm comfort meal on cold rainy days.

Sweet, salty, or sour? I definitely have a pretty big sweet tooth especially when it comes to chocolate.

Do you have any hidden talents? What can you do? It's been awhile and I'm not sure I can very well anymore, but I used to be able to juggle. I am definitely out of practice though!

If you could teach a class on anything you wanted, what would you teach? If I could teach anything it would be Science and Reading!

Physical Education

Ms. Hurst and Mrs. Newman would like to remind everyone that students must wear PE appropriate shoes on their PE day.

Appropriate shoes are: shoes with laces, Velcro, or elastic straps.

Boots, slip on shoes, Hey, Dudes, Jelly sandals/shoes, slides, sandals, crocs, dress shoes, shoes with a heel, and flip flops are not appropriate footwear on PE days.

To ensure the safety of all of our students, those without appropriate footwear will not be able to participate in that day's PE activity.

Please call if you have any questions. (870) 246-2260
