Arkadelphia showed out at the Dawson Coop Chess Tournament today. Fourth grade: Lucas and Graham tied with one other for 2nd place. Vivian got 3rd, and Ester tied with 4 others for 4th out of 40 students. Fifth grade: Ledger tied for 1st, Sarah Kate and Georgia tied for 3rd with 2 others, and Amelia got 4th. They had 56 kids in their grade. I’m so proud of these kiddos.

World Kindness Day
A random act of kindness! Some of Mrs. Cotton's Gifted and Talented students passed out peppermints and a sweet note to parents in the car rider line this morning at Peake Elementary School in honor of World Kindness Day. Acts like this can make someone's day! Great job!
New Edition Choir
New Edition Honor Choir is underway with 21 awesome fourth grade members!! We are rehearsing on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 2:40-3:30. They will have performances coming up soon. We are off to a great musical start!!

3rd - 5th Grade Chess Tournament
Friday, December 6th
5:45 P.M. in the Peake Cafeteria
All 3rd - 5th grade chess players are welcomed. Tournament play starts at 6:00, so please arrive by 5:45. Please email brandi.cotton@arkadelphiaschools.org if your child plans to attend, so we can have enough boards set up. Use the side door to the cafeteria to enter.
4th Grade Music Performance
The fourth grade classes will be presenting "How to Train Your Reindeer (to Fly)" on December 12th. The students have been working on the songs during Music and are singing well! They are getting excited to showcase a great musical. More information will be coming home soon!!

Physical Education
Ms. Hurst and Mrs. Newman would like to remind everyone that students must wear PE appropriate shoes on their PE day.
Appropriate shoes are: shoes with laces, Velcro, or elastic straps.
Boots, slip on shoes, Hey, Dudes, Jelly sandals/shoes, slides, sandals, crocs, dress shoes, shoes with a heel, and flip flops are not appropriate footwear on PE days.
To ensure the safety of all of our students, those without appropriate footwear will not be able to participate in that day's PE activity.
