What's Happening at Peake.....

New Edition Choir

New Edition Choir 2023-24 has started strong!!  We rehearse on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 2:10-2:50 PM. We have performed the National Anthem for morning announcements and will be performing at the Capitol on December 13th. This group of 5th grade students had to learn a song, audition, and demonstrate commitment by attending rehearsals before they become part of our honor choir. I am already very proud of their work.

Grandparents Supporting Literacy

In November, grandparents, we want you to focus on supporting Literacy by telling stories. Show your grandchild pictures or other important items from when you were young. Talk to them about how your life was different from how theirs is now. If you have them, share any toys or other objects from your childhood. Telling these stories to your grandchildren can help build their language skills.

Counselor's Corner

Mrs. Hilser smiling for the camera

Because so many students come to me worried about others calling them names or ignoring them, I try to teach them that #1 – violence is never the answer. #2 – treat others the way you want to be treated. If all of our students can understand those two simple statements, it should cut way down on the rude remarks and threats to fight. Parents, please talk to your children about the right way to treat others whether they are in class, on the bus, or on the playground at recess. Teach them to choose kindness. Every child has a purpose!
