What's Happening at Peake..

Master Gardeners at Peake

Our students had a great time planting flower seeds with the Clark County Master Gardeners! The Master Gardeners received a Janet B. Carson County Sanctioned Project Scholarship which funded this project. Along with seed starting supplies for each student, we also started seeds for each grade. Once mature, the flowers will be transplanted to the Clark County library later this spring.

Arkansas Reads One Book

Beginning Monday, March 4th, elementary students across Arkansas will be reading the same book! Each student will receive a copy of Judy Moody Was in a Mood by Megan McDonald as well as a parent letter and reading schedule. Those will be coming home today. Each evening, they’ll read a chapter, or chapters, with their families—the same chapter that other elementary students across the state will be reading with their families.

“Our reading schedule will take about 15 minutes each night,” says Read to Them Executive Director, Christa Donohue, “putting the entire community literally on the same page. Their reading will be augmented with classroom activities, trivia contests, prizes and opportunities for family engagement.”

Arkansas Reads One Book kicks off on March 4, 2024 and will run through Thursday, March 14th. Thousands of students in hundreds of schools have joined together to celebrate family literacy through Read to Them’s state-wide reading programs.

If you’d like to come read to your child’s class, please contact your student’s teacher to arrange a day and time. We’d love to have you! If you have not visited our school before, a state-issued ID will be required for school entrance.

Counselor's Corner

Wishing all of you a happy and healthy Spring Break. I love this time of year with the daffodils blooming and the trees getting their new coat of leaves for the year. I’m looking forward to students sharing stories with me about what they did during their week off from school!

As always, if there is anything I can do to help your student, please reach out and assure them I am here for them.
