Duck Derby- April 13

Picture of a badger and leopard facing each other

Get ready to buy your ducks from a local Malvern Elementary, Peake Elementary, or Perritt Primary student!

Arkadelphia and Malvern elementary students are going head to head to see which school can sell the most ducks for the 9th Annual Duck Derby Festival, raising money for our mission of providing Healing and Hope to children experiencing abuse in our neighborhoods.

Flyers with instructions are going home this week, and you can enter any student’s name on the duck sale form at pdmcsc.org/race. The flyer is also listed below.

The class that sells the most will receive an ice cream party , and the superintendent of the winning district will get to ”pie” the losing district’s superintendent on video!

Thank you so much to these two schools for participating in the fun and helping our mission in the process!

Counselor's Corner

Can you believe we have less than 40 school days left in the year? It has flown by and I have seen so much growth in our students both physically (they are getting so tall!) and emotionally. They have persevered through so many challenges.

Now we want them to get ready for ATLAS testing in a couple of weeks (April 16, 17, and 18). I’m sorry if I sound like a broken record, but it is so important for them to get a good night’s sleep, wear comfortable clothing, and not start the day off hungry. We want to give them all the tools we can so they can do their best.

Perseverance just happens to be the Capturing Kids' Hearts character word of the month, and it is so appropriate as we wind down the school year. I’m so proud of our scholars who have shown perseverance to have made it this far into the school year and keep trying their best every single day.

Let’s finish strong!
