Grandparents' Day is coming, and we want to celebrate the grandparents in our students' lives!
This year, Peake Elementary School will host a Grandparents' Parade. We welcome all grandparents to come, decorate their cars, and parade by Peake so we can celebrate you! While we are not hosting a breakfast this year, this will be a wonderful time for us to shower you with love and cheer! The route will be announced closer to our parade date. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
Communication folders come home every Tuesday.
Make sure your contact information is up to date with the office.
Looking for a way to get involved? Peake PTA will meet at 12:05 on the SECOND Monday of every month. Our first meeting will be Monday, September 9 at Peake in Room 207. We hope to see you there!
Ms. Hurst and Mrs. Newman would like to remind everyone that students must wear PE appropriate shoes on their PE day.
Appropriate shoes are: shoes with laces, Velcro, or elastic straps.
Boots, slip on shoes, Hey, Dudes, Jelly sandals/shoes, slides, sandals, crocs, dress shoes, shoes with a heel, and flip flops are not appropriate footwear on PE days.
To ensure the safety of all of our students, those without appropriate footwear will not be able to participate in that day's PE activity.
Please call if you have any questions. (870) 246-2260

Parents/caregivers of car riders: thank you for your help in implementing Dashpass! Here are a couple of reminders:
You do not need to let Dashpass know if you have a walker or if you are checking a student out.
Please do not report absences to Dashpass.
The queue opens at 1:30. As soon as you arrive, queue your student. Do not wait.
You cannot queue until you turn right onto Peake Street.
If your queue your student late and they are not in our holding area, you will be asked to pull around.
Please have you student's name displayed clearly so that those on duty can clearly see who you are there to pick up.
Please follow the directions on the STOP sign. For student and teacher safety, the cars should not move until the STOP sign changes to SLOW.
Welcome Back to School!
Dear Parents,
As we embark on a new school year, I am thrilled to welcome you all back! The first few weeks of school are always an exciting time filled with new beginnings and opportunities. To help everyone ease back into the groove of school, we have chosen a fun and relatable theme: Inside Out.
**Meet the Characters:**
Just like the characters in Inside Out, we all experience a range of emotions as we transition back to school. Here’s how each character can help us navigate the first few weeks:
- Joy: Embrace the excitement of new classes, friends, and activities. Let’s find joy in learning and discovering new things.
- Sadness: It’s okay to feel a bit down or overwhelmed. Reach out if you need support; we are here for you.
- Fear: New environments and challenges can be intimidating. Remember, it’s normal to feel nervous. Take one step at a time.
- Anger: Frustrations can arise as we adjust. Practice patience and understanding with yourself and others.
- Disgust: We all have preferences and dislikes. Respect each other’s differences and find common ground.
**What to Expect:**
In the first few weeks, we will focus on:
- Getting Back into Routine: Establishing a daily schedule to help students feel more comfortable and organized.
- Building Connections: Encouraging students to make new friends and strengthen existing relationships.
- Setting Goals: Helping students set academic and personal goals for the year.
- Support Systems: Introducing the available resources for emotional and academic support.
Remember, the start of the school year is a journey, and each emotion plays a vital role in helping us grow and succeed. Let’s make this year a memorable and positive experience together.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead!
Warm regards,
De'Shae Craig
School Counselor
Hello! My name is Christopher Golston, and this is my first year as the school counselor at Peake Elementary School.
I enjoy helping students voice their concerns and offering a safe space for them to freely express themselves. Also, I'm excited to meet all of the wonderful Peake parents. I know it's going to be a FANTASTIC year! I'm currently located at the Peake Elementary campus M-W and my office is located in room 207.
Fun Facts About Me: I enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends. The beach is one of my favorite places to visit and I love to eat authentic Mexican food. Lastly, I am the proud Uncle of my nephew Tristan, who is 1 year old.
See Me If: You are being bullied, you are having trouble at home, you don't feel heard, or if you are feeling scared and upset. I look forward to helping all students have a positive experience here at Peake Elementary School.

Each Month, Peake will have a different character focus. This month, August, we are focused on integrity- doing the right thing...even when nobody is watching. Have conversations at home with your student about:
Ways you showed integrity- at work, at home, at a restaurant, etc.
Ask your student if they saw someone show integrity.
Discuss ways your student could show integrity in their daily life- at school, home, etc.
Check back in with them frequently to see if they had an opportunity to show integrity.
