We Were Excited to Greet Students and Parents at Open House!
We had a great turnout for our Open House held on Thursday, August 8th. Grades K-2 Open House was held 4:00-6:00 pm; Open House for grades 3-4 was held 7:00-8:00 pm. We saw lots of anxious, but smiling, faces from our kiddos. Of course, the playground was a BIG hit!
Teachers and staff spent two days in professional development getting to know each other and learning together to better serve our students. Day 1 PD was led by Solution Tree PLC Coach, Shawn Creswell, who presented on The Foundations of a PLC. Ms. Snowden and Ms. Clark led the second day of PD presenting on topics such as PES Teacher Handbook, PES Procedures Manual, TESS and school schedules. Teachers and staff also spent time reviewing CKH expectations and creating their Social Contract.

We are looking forward to a fantastic year where our students are safe, loved, and achieving!
We fully implemented the DashPass Car Rider Dismissal System this year. Peake piloted the app this past May. While we had some syncing issues to work out on the first day of school, we saw a HUGE celebration on Thursday as all students had been dismissed by 3:45! Whoo hoo!
On Friday, August 9, PES hosted the 16th Annual Men United Back2School Round Up. Community sponsors rallied together and were able to provide school supplies and backpacks for local students. There were also giveaways and pizza!
We had a GREAT first day of school! The students were excited, and we were ecstatic to have our students back on campus! We also had lots of volunteers and would like to thank Board Members Matt Johnson and Blake Bell; Pastor Greg Latham; district admins Ms. Nikki Thomas and Dr. Jeanette Turner; Arkadelphia Police and Fire Departments, and all who contributed and helped wherever it was needed! It really does take a village!
