We Were Excited to Greet Students and Parents at Open House!
We had a great turnout for our Open House held on Thursday, August 7th. Grades K-2 Open House was held 4:00-6:00 pm; Open House for grades 3-4 was held 7:00-8:00 pm. We saw lots of smiling faces from our kiddos. This year, only kindergarten was new to the building, so there were a lot less anxious students.
Teachers and staff spent two days in professional development getting to know each other and learning together to better serve our students. Day 1 PD was led by Solution Tree PLC Coach, Brandon Jones, who presented on The Foundations of a PLC. Day 2 of our Building PD was a full day of learning! Our CKH Process Champions kicked off the day with a great refresher on Capturing Kids Hearts followed up with the building of our staff Social Contract. Mrs. Clair Mays provided training on Apptegy Rooms; Mrs. Amanda Harris trained staff on administering the ATLAS assessment as we prepared to give our BOY screeners to K-3 students; Ms. Snowden gave an overview of the Arkansas Code of Ethics and reviewed Spring ATLAS test data; and finally, Mrs. Molly Tucker wrapped up the day by providing teachers with training on Pear Assessment, the platform we use to give CFAs and CSAs.

Thank you, Badger football players and members of the spirit teams, for greeting our Little Badgers in the car rider line. Our students always love to see their heroes and she-roes! Gooooooo Badgers!
On Friday, August 8, PES hosted the 17th Annual Men United Back2School Round Up. Community sponsors rallied together and were able to provide school supplies and backpacks for local students. There were also giveaways and pizza!
We had a GREAT first day of school! The students were excited, and we were ecstatic to have our students back on campus! We also had lots of volunteers and would like to thank Pastor Greg Latham; district admin Dr. Jeanette Turner; Arkadelphia Police and Fire Departments, and all who contributed and helped wherever it was needed! It really does take a village!
