Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest

Mrs. Cotton's fifth grade GT class participated in the Daughters of the American Revolution essay contest. Students pretended they were newspaper reporters for the Philadelphia Times, and they were reporting on John Philip Sousa's first performance of "The Stars and Stripes Forever." Charlie Harrell placed first, and his essay will compete at the state level. Stephanie Burroughs placed second, and Ryker Hrabal placed third.

The three winners will be honored at a reception where the students will read their essays.

Tier II Intervention

We were so happy to see our students back after Winter Break! We were back in action and gearing up for a great 2nd semester. Picture is Ms. Kingdon providing small group instruction during Tier II time. Way to go, Ms. Kingdon, for jumping right back in and putting learning FIRST!

PLC Process Is Paying OFF!!

We are proud of the work that teachers are putting in to ensure high levels of learning for all students. Students are assessed frequently using CFAs to determine whether or not they are on track to achieve mastery of the state standard. Students not performing well on learning targets are provided with interventions over the course of several weeks in hopes that standard mastery is met when the CSA is given. Many classes are hitting the mark on their first try!
