GREAT Things Are Happening at Peake!

Kindergarten Registration

Peake Elementary held a PAWSOME two-day registration event as we kicked off Kindergarten Registration. Despite the rain, we had over 100 future kindergartners bursting with excitement, ready to attend their new school this Fall. Students took a brief assessment to determine readiness and received a swag bag of goodies. We can't wait to have them as a part of our school!

Second Grade Musical

Our 2nd graders presented the musical performance, A Pirate's Life for Me!, a musical adventure on the sea! Our young performers sang, danced, and told the exciting story of what it means to express a desire for a life of freedom, adventure, and excitement, even if it's a risky and challenging one! It was a show filled with catchy tunes, adorable sea farers, and unforgettable moments.

Peake Goes Purple!

Our students and staff rose to the challenge during the month of April to "Purple Up!" for military kids. Each Friday of the month was a day to wear purple to show support for military-connected children and their families during the Month of the Military Child. The idea is to make it visible that military kids are supported and appreciated, and that their unique challenges and sacrifices are recognized.

Student of the Month Reognition

Each month, students from each classroom are chosen as their class's Student of the Month. These students are recognized for their exceptional school behavior, dedicated work ethic and adherence to our Capturing Kids' Hearts characteristics. As a result of this honor, these students are also invited to participate in Pizza with the Police. A big thank you to our school resource officers/local law enforcement and to Nicole McGough and Patterson's Federal Credit Union for their pizza sponsorship each month!

Year 2 as a CKH National Showcase School

Peake was recently named a 2024-2025 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School, a prestigious honor awarded to campuses that demonstrate excellence in building a culture where students feel safe, connected, and engaged. We are proud to have received this honor two years in a row.

The Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools® Award recognizes schools that go above and beyond in creating an environment where students thrive academically and emotionally. Through the Capturing Kids’ Hearts® Process, our educators have been equipped with relationship-building tools and processes that help them foster student success and a positive campus culture. Schools that receive this designation have shown measurable progress in student connectedness, academic achievement, and overall school culture.

Peake students wrapped up State testing with a sweet treat! Kindergarten through 2nd grade tested April 21-25; our 3rd and 4th graders tested April 29-May 2. Goofy Greg's Sno Cone truck arrived on campus ready to refresh some excited students after each one "did their best to ROCK THE TEST!"

More Testing Incentives!

Another way we wanted to motivate students was to have words of encouragement posted outside each classroom. Parents, teachers and staff made sure to write motivational words to our students. Also, members of our PTA volunteered their time to come by the school to write messages for the students who did not have one. This way, we ensured that EVERY student was represented with their class. Thank you, Peake PTA!

Students received the opportunity to win prizes for great testing behavior. Daily prizes were drawn for each classroom during their testing week. To be eligible to go into the drawing, students had to meet the following criteria:

1. were present and on time.

2. worked hard the whole time.

3. had no misbehavior the whole day.
