Perritt Primary School's Final Chili Supper Paves the Way for New Peake Elementary Tradition
In a heartwarming and bittersweet gathering, Perritt Primary School hosted its final chili supper, creating cherished memories for students, families, and community members. The Perritt Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC) and community sponsors played a pivotal role in organizing the event, making it a night to remember.
The evening was not only a celebration of community spirit but also a tribute to the longstanding tradition of the Perritt Primary School chili supper. The aroma of delicious chili filled the air as families and friends gathered in the school cafeteria to savor the last serving of this beloved culinary tradition.
One of the highlights of the evening was the art auction, which turned out to be a tremendous success. Mrs. Amy Taylor, Perritt Primary Art Teacher, worked tirelessly to bring together a unique collection of artwork, showcasing the talents of Perritt Primary School students. The bidding, conducted by the night's acting auctioneer Pastor Greg Lathem, reached its peak when the Stewart Family of Stewart Properties secured the highest bid for an extraordinary art piece.
The masterpiece featured a profound quote: "Between two trees is a door to the new world" by the legendary naturalist John Muir. The bidding war for this one-of-a-kind artwork symbolized the community's appreciation for the school's commitment to fostering creativity and inspiration.
The Nickelodeon Choir, led by Mrs. Sydney Miller and Mrs. Ansley Webb was comprised of talented students from Perritt Primary School, added a musical touch to the evening. Their captivating performance resonated with the audience, creating a harmonious backdrop as community members indulged in delicious chili and mouthwatering cinnamon rolls.
As the final notes of the Nickelodeon Choir echoed through the cafeteria, there was a collective sense of gratitude and nostalgia. The Perritt Primary School community came together to express their heartfelt appreciation for the PTC committee and everyone involved in making the last chili supper a resounding success.
Mrs. Stephens, the Perritt Principal, expressed gratitude, saying, "The chili supper has been a cherished tradition at Perritt Primary School, bringing families and the community together for many years. As we bid farewell to this chapter, we eagerly anticipate the tradition continuing at Peake Elementary next year. We extend our deepest gratitude to the PTC committee, sponsors, and everyone involved in making this final chili supper so memorable."
While Perritt Primary School's last chili supper marked the end of an era, it also paved the way for a new beginning. Peake Elementary is poised to inherit this beloved tradition, ensuring that the sense of community and camaraderie fostered by the chili supper will endure for generations to come. The memories created during this poignant night will serve as a bridge between the past and the exciting future that awaits Peake Elementary School.
Perritt Primary extends its heartfelt thanks to the Clark County Library, represented by Mrs. Betsy Fisher, for their generous contribution of solar eclipse glasses. This thoughtful donation ensures that each student can safely witness the upcoming celestial event, fostering curiosity and a love for science. The library's dedication to enriching educational experiences reflects a commitment to community engagement and lifelong learning. As Perritt Primary eagerly anticipates the solar eclipse, the entire school community expresses deep appreciation to Clark County Library for their invaluable support in creating a memorable and safe learning experience.
Embracing Courage: Creating a Resilient School Community
In the journey to instill courage within our school community, students are actively participating in the implementation of the word of the month. Through a series of engaging activities and open discussions, students collectively explore and internalize the concept of courage in their daily lives.
During group sessions, students immerse themselves in interactive activities curated to promote courage. From role-playing scenarios that encourage self-assertion to facing fears together, these activities empower students to take ownership of their journey toward courage.
In one-on-one sessions, personalized support becomes a cornerstone as students guide one another through identifying areas for courage and strategizing ways to overcome challenges. These sessions offer a platform for deeper exploration of individual fears, anxieties, and personal growth.
By integrating the word of the month into both group and individual settings, Ms. Craig works with students to spearhead a comprehensive approach. This not only fosters courage but also nurtures empowerment, resilience, and self-belief within the school community.
Recognizing the vital importance of courage, Ms. Craig and her students inspire each other to face challenges with newfound bravery, shaping a resilient and courageous school community where their collective strength becomes the driving force for positive change.
